The full name of the IEEE is the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc., although the organization is referred to by the letters I-E-E-E and pronounced Eye-triple-E. The History Center is very good, with events of the day, a "Virtual Museum" with sections on Electronic Musical Instruments, Women in Technology, etc. FREE!

Owhyee Dam, Oregon. Built in 1932, the Owhyee Dam tested many of the technologies later used at Boulder (Hoover) Dam in Nevada. The Bureau of Reclamation has a nice website on them and the dam.

Thomasnet or "Who makes the (insert one: pipe, valve, wiring, rebar, chemical, whatever) that I need to put my engineering plan into practice? Thomasnet was originally the Thomas Guide to Manufacturers, a directory of manufacturing companies. It is a free and valuable resource for anyone in the engineering trade.

PCC Library has lots of resources that you can use on your own. You may already know that about the quiet study spaces as well as study rooms you can reserve.

Citing sources is another way you can help yourself! PCC Library has all the information you need on Cite Sources. The library also has video tutorials on everything from how to develop a topic for your paper to figuring out how to incorporate those citations. You'll find those videos, as well as information about using e-resources, at Tutorials and Handouts.
