Sylvania Teaching Learning Center Event

February 28, 2012 - Faculty and NWEI Discussion Group.

Please join the Teaching Learning Center and Northwest Earth Institute for a focused discussion on sustainability curriculum needs.

The Northwest Earth Institute (NWEI) currently offers 11 different discussion courses focused on sustainability themes. NWEI discussion courses help you teach sustainability concepts through a proven process of shared discovery, personal reflection and positive action. However, NWEI is developing a new online platform to better meet the needs of participants, faculty and staff in higher education.

Please join us for a discussion on your current sustainability education needs and how we might better meet them through both our traditional and online platforms.

Please join the Teaching Learning Center and Northwest Earth Institute for a focused discussion on sustainability curriculum needs.

Please join us for a discussion on your current sustainability education needs and how we might better meet them through both our traditional and online platforms.

September, 2010 - Northwest Earth Institute (NWEI) Discussion Group begins in the Sylvania Teaching and Learning Center. This is a six-session course offered to faculty that explores "good health," the connections between human health and the environment, and how we can sustain both. Each session includes readings from the book "A World of Health: Connecting People, Place and Planet", video clips, short assignments and accompanying group discussion questions.

In support of this event, the Library has compiled a list of links to the resources that are listed in the discussion book. The list is organized by session number for quick reference. Almost every book listed in the discussion guide can be checked out through the PCC Library or through Summit.

PCC Library has lots of resources that you can use on your own. You may already know that about the quiet study spaces as well as study rooms you can reserve.

Citing sources is another way you can help yourself! PCC Library has all the information you need on Cite Sources. The library also has video tutorials on everything from how to develop a topic for your paper to figuring out how to incorporate those citations. You'll find those videos, as well as information about using e-resources, at Tutorials and Handouts.
