There are a number of great sites that help you generate color schemes to use in web design including:

Design Pattern Library
Part of the Yahoo Developer Network. Includes shared code and information about solving design problems. Excellent for the new developer.

Bootstrap, from Twitter
Provides flexible html, CSS, and Javascript components for rapid prototyping and development of websites.

A List Apart
An online magazine for people who make websites. Published by Happy Cog. An excellent place to find out about standards and emerging trends.

W3Schools
Terrific tutorials about a wide range of topics including html, xhtml, CSS, XML, scripting, and more

Markup Validation Service
Validates your markup code. Hosted by the W3C

Mozilla Developer Network
Includes topics about web technologies and Firefox extensions for developers. Excellent resources about ajax, cascading style sheets, html, javascript, RSS, XML and more.

Webmonkey: The Web Developers Resource
Resources for website developers including how-to guides, code libraries, server technologies and authoring resources.

Section 508
Section 508 requires that Federal agencies' electronic and information technology is accessible to people with disabilities. IT Accessibility & Workforce Division, in the U.S. General Services Administration's Office of Government-wide Policy, has been charged with the task of educating Federal employees and building the infrastructure necessary to support Section 508 implementation. Use this website, to build 508 compliant, accessible websites.

Section 508 Homepage: Electronic and Information Technology
Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act requires access to electronic and information technology procured by Federal agencies. The Access Board developed accessibility standards for the various technologies covered by the law. These standards have been folded into the Federal government's procurement regulations. Use these standards to build 508 compliant websites.

Usability.gov
Tips about usability, layout and design. Published by the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services.

User Interface Engineering
A consulting firm founded by Jared Spool, a well known user interface professional. The website includes papers about ui and usability testing, conferences and a blog.

PCC Library has lots of resources that you can use on your own. You may already know that about the quiet study spaces as well as study rooms you can reserve.

But did you know the library also has video tutorials on everything from how to use the catalog to understanding how and why to cite sources? You'll find those videos, as well as information about using e-resources, at Tutorials and Handouts.
