American Dental Association
The professional association of dental professionals, the ADA has great information available for free. Be sure to check out Oral Health Topics A to Z.

Dental Abstracts

Health & Biological Sciences
Electronic and print journals owned by Portland Community College. This list contains links to journals by topic. Journal of Dentistry
Geared toward an international readership, Journal of Dentistry provides excellent information on management of dental disease, long-term clinical trials, evaluation of dental equipment, new experimental techniques, epidemiology and oral health, dental biomaterials science, restorative dentistry, periodontology, endodontology, operative dentistry, prosthodontics, pediatric dentistry, orthodontics and dental education.

Journal of Evidence-Based Dental Practice
Focusing on the evidence-based method (use or rejection of a procedure based on solid, clinical evidence found in literature), this journal contains articles and reviews of research in clinical procedures and treatments.

RDH
Magazine geared toward dental hygienists, topics range from clinical and practice management to continuing education.

Oral Health Topics A-Z
ADA: Excellent overview of different restorative materials for direct and indirect restorations. Materials covered include amalgam, composite, ionomers, ceramic, porcelain-fused-to-metal, gold alloys and more. See also the Dental Filling Facts [pdf] brochure, the Amalgam page, and the page on types of restorative materials. This also includes the comparison of indirect restorative materials [pdf] brochure.

Dental Economics
Website of the Dental Economics journal. Although the journal is a subscription service, the website contains many free full-text articles focusing on the implications of economy and dental practice. Some great resources on economic factors in patient restorative material choice.

Dental Materials
Full-text articles on clinical and laboratory research which focuses on the properties or performance of dental materials or the reaction of host tissues to materials.

Dental Amalgam

PCC Library has lots of resources that you can use on your own. You may already know that about the quiet study spaces as well as study rooms you can reserve.

Citing sources is another way you can help yourself! PCC Library has all the information you need on Cite Sources. The library also has video tutorials on everything from how to develop a topic for your paper to figuring out how to incorporate those citations. You'll find those videos, as well as information about using e-resources, at Tutorials and Handouts.
