Summit Borrowing

The PCC Library catalog includes books and other items in the Summit system. Summit is the combined catalog of college and university libraries in Oregon and Washington, with over 27 million items, that allows easy searching, requesting, and delivery of books and movie.

Items requested through Summit can be delivered to any PCC Library for pick-up in 4-5 days. An email to your myPCC account will notify you when your item is ready for pick up. PCC students and staff can also borrow items directly from a Summit library with your PCC photo ID. Return your borrowed items to any PCC library.

Aging Male: Providing peer-reviewed research papers and other educational and research materials.
AgingStats.gov: Established in 1986, this site brings together resources from Federal agencies that share an interest in improving aging-related data. Here you will find reports, statistics, and workshop presentations and papers.
Experimental Aging Research: Peer-reviewed research articles, book reviews, monographs, and papers on the aging process from a psychological and psychobiological perspective. Focus on experimental psychology, neuropsychology, psychobiology, work research, ergonomics, and behavioral medicine.
AHRQ: Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality: The Older Adults page from AHRQ includes press releases, evidence reports, effectiveness reviews, and research results on topics in healthcare for the aged.

Journal of Aging Studies: Scholarly articles related to the aging experience. Journal focuses on aging from the perspective of social and behavioral sciences.

U.S. Census Bureau: Age Data of the United States provides census information specific to age groups, generations such as Baby Boomers, and other age-related breakdowns.
U.S. Department of Health and Human Services: Make sure to check out the resources on Aging, including statistics; hospitals and nursing homes; Medicare and Medicaid; and suggested resources for caregivers.
U.S. Food and Drug Administration: The Information for Seniors page has numerous articles, brochures and other publications with information for older people on a wide range of health issues, including arthritis, cancer, health fraud, and nutrition.

PCC Library has lots of resources that you can use on your own. You may already know that about the quiet study spaces as well as study rooms you can reserve.

Citing sources is another way you can help yourself! PCC Library has all the information you need on Cite Sources. The library also has video tutorials on everything from how to develop a topic for your paper to figuring out how to incorporate those citations. You'll find those videos, as well as information about using e-resources, at Tutorials and Handouts.
